Mt. McSauba

Dubbed the “Little Nubs Nob,” Mt. McSauba offers winter fun with groomed, lighted slopes for downhill skiers, with eighty acres of ungroomed, lighted trails for cross country skiers, a sled hill and an ice skating rink. Get warm indoors after a day in the cold in the adult lounge and grab a snack at the snack bar.

Private and group lessons are also offered for skiers, information on rates and passes can be found here.

In the summer, Mt. McSauba offers beautiful hiking trails and disc golfing with views of Lake Charlevoix.


Charlevoix municipal Golf Club

Enjoy a round of golf on one of Michigan’s oldest golf courses, built in 1896 and located just steps from the Peppervine neighborhood in beautiful Charlevoix.

After 124 years in operation, this 9-hole, 36-par golf course is the perfect way to spend a sunny day. More information on the course, including hours and pricing, can be found here.

The Belvedere Club

Explore another of Michigan’s beautiful golf courses at Charlevoix’s historic Belvedere Golf Club. Recently restored, the course is a local favorite and was named the Michigan Course of the Year in 2016 by the Michigan Golf Course Owner Association.

Charlevoix Country Club

Play a round of golf at the Charlevoix Country Club or become a member of the fitness center to take exercise classes or simply work out in their fully stocked exercise room. Afterwards, enjoy a bite to eat on premise at Shanahan’s Pub, open daily.

The Charlevoix Country Club also has event and wedding opportunities in their gorgeous rustic barn.

Local Bike Trails

Northern Michigan offers plenty of bike trails to keep you busy and entertained. Easily take the bike path from the Peppervine neighborhood into downtown Charlevoix or try one of the longer local bike trails for more of a challenge.

The Top of Michigan Trails Council Network maintains 180 miles beautiful miles along old railway corridors suitable for many different recreational activities.

Another excellent trail to try is the Little Traverse Wheelway, which spans 26 miles from Charlevoix to Harbor Springs. The path is non-motorized, easily making it a very family friendly recreational activity.
